In addition, we offer lifelong aftercare to all of our delegates including complication management support. Dr Gurnam Virdi
Dr Gurnam Virdi is an internationally renowned cosmetic doctor based in the UK. Alongside being the Medical Director of the Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, he is also a recognised international speaker and trainer in medical aesthetics. In addition, he is faculty member of the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. His background is heavily comprised of Surgery in which he has multiple first author journal publications. Dr Virdi specialises in the development of innovative techniques to enhance facial harmony with a holistic approach using non-surgical measures. Furthermore, he takes great pride in patient safety and is known for his specialism – managing complications in medical aesthetics.
TARA JAMISON
Tara is a registered nurse based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with a decade of experience in acute healthcare within both the NHS and private hospital settings. She has a keen interest in postoperative care and extensive experience in treating plastics, vascular, ENT, and general patients in both elective and emergency situations. Her expertise in anatomy, tissue viability, and vascular compromise is invaluable for assessing and promptly addressing complications associated with aesthetic procedures.
In 2018, Tara completed her first aesthetics course, and by 2019, she launched her own clinic, AlterEgo Aesthetics. Over the past two years, this clinic has grown from a part-time hobby into a full-time passion, operating from her premises in the bustling Queens Quarter of Belfast. Over the last year, she has further developed her knowledge, skills, and practice under the guidance of Dr. Gurnam Virdi, investing considerable time in her education to deepen her understanding and refine her skills.
Tara specialises in PDO thread rejuvenation and lip enhancements, focusing on creating facial balance and harmonization. She strongly believes that every patient should leave the clinic as the best version of themselves, not as a copy of someone else.
Lastly, Tara takes great pride in being Northern Ireland’s clinical lead trainer for the Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, providing top-notch training and continuous support to medical practitioners. She is also dedicated to raising standards for patient safety in the industry and is proudly a member of the British Medical Association of Aesthetic Medicine.
HANNAH CRAIG
Meet Hannah, a Registered Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber, who practices medical aesthetics at her family-run clinic in Nottinghamshire.
With 20 years of nursing experience spanning a diverse range of clinical settings in both the NHS and private healthcare, including surgery, intensive care, Occupational Health, and medical aesthetics, Hannah brings a wealth of expertise to her practice.
Hannah combines injectable treatments with advanced energy-based devices to help her patients achieve their aesthetic goals. Known for her keen eye for detail, she focuses on delivering subtle yet impactful results, ensuring that her patients look and feel their best.
Committed to continuous professional development, Hannah earned her PGDip in Aesthetic Medicine in 2023. She is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in her practice to ensure patient safety and is passionate about sharing her expertise through teaching, contributing to the growth and advancement of the aesthetics community.
BEATA BURSKE
With over 15 years of experience, Beata has built a diverse career as both a community-based and locum pharmacist, gaining exposure to a wide range of communities and environments. This varied experience has enriched her understanding of patient care and the importance of personalised treatment
approaches.
Always passionate about skin care and well-being, Beata pursued further training to become an Advanced Aesthetics Practitioner and achieved certification as an Independent Prescriber. Her commitment to innovation drives her to continually seek out the latest methods for promoting longevity, wellness, and natural beauty.
Throughout her career, Beata has been dedicated to continuous learning and networking, drawing inspiration from the experiences of others. She is now thrilled to join the team of trainers here at AAM, where she eagerly anticipates sharing her expertise while continuing to grow and learn from new opportunities.

Our Policies
We respect staff and delegates from all backgrounds and beliefs and we strictly abide by a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or harassment. Formal complaints can be submitted in writing via the complaints procedure to the Managing Director.
The Academy of Aesthetic Medicine allows complaints to be handled in two ways:
Informally
- This would be directly to the Managing Director on the day.
Formally
- This would be in writing to the Medical Director within 4 weeks of the incident in question. We aim to conduct an investigation into the complaint and come to a conclusion within 4 weeks on receipt of the complaint.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s office (ICO) and abide by Data Protection Legislation. We will ensure security measures are in place to prevent unauthorised access to third party.
Before we process your data, we will obtain your consent. You can request copies of your personal data and we charge a £20 admin fee for this.
The documents we retain include:
- Learner application records
- Record of registration with appropriate governing body e.g. GMC certificate
We aim to develop a sustainable business that is financially viable and environmentally sustainable. In order to achieve this we will ensure we comply with legislation, regulations and codes of practice on environmental matters relevant to our operations.
FAQs
Our courses assume a certain level of prior medical knowledge. The degrees we accept are Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy.
No. On the day, we provide prescribers to ensure you can carry out your practical training. Following the course, if you are not a prescriber, you will need to find a local prescriber. In line with GMC guidelines, prescribers need to consult patients face-to-face before prescribing Botulinum Toxin. Dermal fillers do not currently require a prescription.
All of our courses consist of 50% theory and 50% practical sessions which will equip you to become a safe aesthetic practitioner. The mornings consist of interactive lectures on facial anatomy and the initial consultation. The afternoons consist of putting theory into practice with a live demonstration followed by 1-2-1 supervised training on live models. We finish off with a detailed talk about the business aspects of Aesthetic Medicine.
All of our courses are taught by a team of highly experienced aesthetic practitioners.
Certificates are emailed across within 48 hours of course completion. We also send out hard-copies.
Our courses are accredited by one of the biggest cosmetic insurance companies – Hamilton Fraser. Upon receiving our certificate, you will be allowed to take out indemnity insurance and start practicing aesthetic medicine.

Just yourself! Pre-course material will be sent prior the course. Pens and paper are provided on the day and we also have models for your hands on training. Refreshments and lunch are also provided.
The L7 Cert in Aesthetic Medicine is an OFQUAL approved post-graduate certificate aimed at medical professionals. More information will be available soon.

COURSE BOOKINGS
The Academy of Aesthetic Medicine curriculum has been assessed and approved by cosmetic indemnity providers who provide recognition and authorisation of indemnity.
Full payment is required at the time of booking. A certification of course completion will be issued upon completion. Please be aware that delegates arriving late may not be able to participate on the course or certify.
Refreshments and lunch are provided.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please note cancellation charges apply. Upon booking, 50% of the course fee is immediately NON-REFUNDABLE.
Bookings cancelled less than 1 month prior to the course are NON-REFUNDABLE.
In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to change the training dates to a future date although this needs to be requested in writing.
We reserve the right to amend or cancel any training date. Should this be the case, you will be entitled to a full refund.
We are not responsible for travel or accommodation costs.
PHOTOGRAPHY
We ask delegates not to take any photos or videos during any of our training courses. Before and after photographs may be taken with consent of the models, however, they remain the property of Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and are only for use as part of your training record.
